Message The 94 TT I recently bought the previous owner had all 6 injectors replaced in 2012, while doing that the nissan dealer also checked out the check engine light which was the EGR. They didn't replace it but said on the invoice "cleaned EGR." Check engine light still flips on time to time and ECU is throwing the code. Previous owner claimed the dealership said "just revving the engine will clear out the carbon build up" and turn the light off...and it actually does. But the ECU still puts up the code without the check engine light on.

Both my O2 sensors are messed up, if I did the ECU check right, driver side check engine light was blinking in intervals as was the passenger. So both sides would blink a few times then stay off, repeat.

I also have code 34.

My concern is, if I do the knock relocate and remove the code 34 and allow the engine full boost without a properly working EGR valve that the increased heat inside the combustion chamber will cause pre-ignition/knock all over again/kill my engine.

Also there is smoke coming right from the area of the EGR valve and det sensor. I am pretty sure the nissan dealer that replaced the injectors and "cleaned the EGR" messed something up back there.

I was thinking to pull the tranny cause I have other things to address there. Is it really possible to replace the EGR by dropping the tranny? Having trouble finding a write up going that route.
