I moved to Northern VA in March - got new license plates in June. Now I’m trying to pass emissions. The low speed failed on HC and CO%. The high speed failed on NOx. I have high-flow cats and no precats. The EGR is still installed, but not sure how well it's working. Checked for obvious vacuum leaks. Based on what I read, and before buying stock cats, I plan to do the vacuum trick, add “Guaranteed to Pass”, and retard the timing to about 10 deg BTDC.Perhaps someone has experience with a similar emission challenge and can offer advice. Is there anything else that could increase my chances of passing? The first-try emission inspection report details are: Limit/Reading/Result 15 MPH HC: 92 / 160 / FAIL CO%: 0.37 / 0.48 / FAIL NOX: 1200 / 379 / PASS RPM: / 1625 / VALID DILUTION: / 14.7 / VALID 25 MPH HC: 100 / 89 / PASS CO%: 0.53 / 0.45 / PASS NOX: 1167 / 1667 / FAIL RPM: / 2565 / VALID DILUTION: / 14.6 / VALID
