Message Right, I replaced the temp sending unit for the ecu recently. Timing has been checked with a timing light, as was stated in an earlier post and sits steady at 15 degrees, so timing isn't the issue then. I haven't tried a different mass air flow sensor. The car has a new TPS on it now, and is in spec (had to replace that about 4 months ago). Apart from spark plugs, Mass Air Flow Sensor is sounding like the only thing that could account for the erratic surging and hesitation on hot days. As far as the spark plugs are concerned, I don't get any misses or shakes that you'd get if you had one going out. I might try a new MAF and see what that does. Oh, and I'm using Mobil 1 full synthetic 10W40 with K&N filter and it doesn't leak or use a drop.
