| Hey experts, While trying to keep up at Branson Z Fest, I almost nuked my automatic transmission. The ALC combined with constant WOT runs probably triggered the pressure solenoid error and frequent 2nd gear stickage... It takes a ton to keep up in cruises without a MT or twin turbos. I wasn't too concerned at the time though because I had upgraded my NA automatic transmission to a 1994 TT auto with about 15,000 miles. Unfortunately, the 300zx automatic trans is obviously not built for any real abuse. Anyway, I've been biding my time while trying to avoid spending too much on my NA 2+2 Z (practically impossible). I've replaced almost all suspension bushings and have rebuilt almost every external engine component. I cannot possibly list all of the upgrades I've performed (including a proper e-fan install which has saved my engine). I've recovered my seats and am almost done with a comprehensive audio upgrade (mic tested and equalized). I'd love to convert my car to a Twin Turbo and I certainly wouldn't mind taking her down for a week to perform the work. After building a custom trigger to enable remote start, installing a full Viper alarm, and custom audio system, I'm confident in my abilities. If I can be sure that a straight 60,000 mile TT engine and 5 speed swap could be reliable, I would do it immediately. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that I'll have to rebuild any used TT engine, MT, and turbos if I go this route. I'm going to have to get a new MT anyway so I'm wondering if I should just purchase a TT engine and 5 speed transmission? My current NA engine has about 156,000 miles on it... If I could get a good enough package deal, I could probably hold on to the TT engine, then rebuild it when I get a chance while using the 5 speed transmission. What would you do?
