Last week I began having an issue with boost. When I hit the gas, I build my normal 13psi of boost (according to my gauge) and can hear the turbos working without any odd noises. BUT, the car reacts as if there is no boost at all. The get-up-and-go reaction that one normally gets when the turbos kick in is now very weak. I immediately checked for boost leaks, and did have a few. But after fixing all boost leaks, I still have the same issue. It all started on my ride home from work last week. I did not push the motor hard at all and 15 min later when I got off the highway I noticed that I had no oil pressure. My lifters have the common tick but when I stopped at the traffic light I noticed that they were ticking louder than normal. I made it home, threw about a half quart of oil in and the lifters shut up, and I had oil pressure again. But that is when the boost issue began. At the same time, I have been having an issue with idle. When I shift to neutral, the car searches for its normal idle speed. It bounces around from about 300 to 1100 a few times and then levels off at about 850. I have replaced the AAC and IACV valves, PCV valves, adjusted the TPS, checked MAF, and checked/cleaned plugs and connections. The spark plugs, injectors, O2 sensors, and knock sensor were all replaced when I put the motor in about 2 years ago. I have put about 5,000 miles on the motor in that time and the idle issue has been around that long as well. I don't know if these two issues are related, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had something to do with each other.
