When I try to adjust the timing on my 91 TT, the closest I can get is about 22-24 degrees. This is with the CAS turned all the way to the right (retarded). I am using cylinder number one as the pickup, not the PTU loop. I know the CAS is functioning properly; when I took it out and manually turned it I could hear and injectors firing. The car runs poorly and is low on power. Could this be from a slipped tooth on the timing belt? Or something else?
Thanks
