Message So earlier today I had my IACV out for cleaning. While I was in there I noticed the harness connectors weren't in such great shape either. I also swapped out the Air Regulator for another I had sitting around and it seemed to perform better. I let the car warm up, set the idle.. then backed it out of garage to take it for a spin.
By the time I put it in first and stepped on the gas, the car bogged down and almost stalled. Now every time I touch the throttle, the RPMs drop and the car shakes horribly. Sometimes with a pop here and there. Sounds as if the CAS is unhooked and the timing is way off or something.
I can hear the injectors clicking, and they seem to click really loud when the RPMs drop. The car will literally not rev at all. The RPMs get down past 500ish and will not return as long as I'm touching the throttle.
Obviously this is an issue, but it's really confusing me even more since the problem has become intermittent. I have tried a few things, and was sure that I fixed it.. but of course the problem return within a few minutes.
I pulled the plugs after fooling with it for awhile. They were extremely fouled, so I cleaned them off and put them back in. It seems to be running extremely rich when this is happening.
I have checked the crank angle sensor and verified that all injectors are firing, checked and swapped the PTU, readjusted the TPS and disconnected a number of other connections to check for changes, but I can't figure out what's going on.
I didn't see anything like this in all my searching, so any ideas anyone has would be greatly appreciated!
I just finished a TT swap into my friend's 2+2, so my car hasn't gotten any love yet this year.
Thanks
