Message their blocks.
I had this engine on an engine stand.. then transferred over to my metal bench to do this work.

After I completed.. I used compressed air and blew through every coolant port and freeze plug opening.

I was amazed how much stuff is in the block.. some of it just being dirt and rust from this block sitting.

Do this first.. then take to machine shop for acid dip/hot tank/painting etc.
