this is my original post.... Message Hello All, and thanks in advance for looking into my post for assistance... I have a 91 NA 2+2, I replaced the EFI harness with a new one from wiring specialties and did some repair work to the ALT harness as well. After all the work involved with that process I went to test the fuel system before connecting all the lines to the motor and to clear the old fuel from the lines. While doing that I realized the pump was not coming on. Knowing that the vehicle had sat apart for a while, I thought the pump sized-up or quit all together, so before assuming that was the problem I checked the fuse over by the battery and it was good. I then went on to directly feed current to the pump and it kick on without a glitch. I am a bit stump here... pump works but somehow it is not receiving the input to turn on with the ignition power. What do you guys suggest I check next?. I looked into other possible relays and such but I could not find anything related. I think I may have left something disconnected or ungrounded but before I start chasing wires I was hoping someone could help in pointing me in the right direction. At this point the only thing that is not connected is the air flow meter. I have all the usual deletes done as well but that should not be causing any issues with fuel pump signals. Is there a possibility that any engine room connection failure causes the pump not to work? all my dash lights come on the engine cranks over but no pump!... any help will be greatly appreciated guys..! I followed all the advised given. replaced fuel pump relay with known good one. replaced fuel pump controller with known good one and also by passed it to rule out any issues with that sector. also tried a known good ECU and nothing!!!! checked the fuses and links by the battery and the car does crank over!! I am now thinking ignition switch but not sure because car does crank. I also have a clifford alarm but is on passive mode and like a mentioned the car does crank over. I also feed current directly to the pump to further verify that it does work... and it does! what is next here???
i did replace the EFI harness but as far as i can tel from the schematic there should not be any power supply issues with that but not sure... HELP!!
