| nemo1080, I've been there and have had the dash out of my 90 NA a little over 2 years ago, and like you I was not thrilled with the prospect of tackling the job. In my case the Z is one of several toys that gets winter stored, only to discover that mice had made a nest in the heater box. The job is not as daunting as it appears. If you can afford the downtime for the car, and have the needed part on hand, its a DIYer job. You may only need to pull the center console, the radio and center dash pocket/Bose center speaker, and the lower dash covers to get at what you need to reach. If the whole dash needs to come out, you will only require a steering wheel puller as a special tool. Your normal backyard mechanic tools will handle the rest. Mark both the steering wheel and the steering wheel shaft before you pull it, so you can put it back on in the correct orientation. Pull the speedometer/combination meter and disconnect its harnesses. Get the FSM so you can find hidden fasteners and bolts, and take lots of pictures of fasteners and the steps, so that you'll not forget any items upon reinstallation. After reading the service manual diagrams for locations and fasteners, I had the entire dash out of the car in under 2 hours. It looks worse than it is. Good Luck should you wish to tackle
