Message So, need some advice fellers. My rear brakes locked up driving home a few months back. I'm talking smoking hot to where the car would not move. After cooling down for an hour, the calipers released.

I hadn't bled the brakes for a few years so I decided to, with ATE Blue fluid, and rebuild all four calipers with new seals. When rebuilding the REAR calipers, I noticed it was very difficult to press the pistons back into the calipers. I used my thumbs but it took everything I had. (The FRONT pistons were easy to push in.)

So last night and after the bleed and rebuild, I got on the brakes pretty good. I was going about 35mph and stopped hard at a brake light. Still kinda braking in the new system as I also replaced pads/rotors. BOTH rear calipers locked up again. Smoking hot and red rotors. Drove a few hundred feet to get off the road. Luckily, it was in the 40s in Denver so the brakes cooled and released in about 30 minutes. I limped back home with minimal brake use.
Anyway, I think my rear caliper pistons and housing have too much of interference fit and not able to retract easily. Like I mentioned the FRONT pistons were easy to push in and function fine.

Has anyone experienced this?

FYI, I have a 1991 TT with no previous brake problems, no ABS light on dash, original master cylinder, OEM calipers, pads/rotors broken in per Hawk instructions.
