... so I just bought a 90tt with only 74K original miles that have JWT Sport 500 turbos on it. Well the guy I bought it from only drove it about 3 or 4 times a year.... and I noticed an oil leak (just about 2 or 3 drops only after I drive it and it sits over night) on the bottom of the driver's side turbo. I traced that the oil leak is coming from where pipe that comes from the intercooler connects to the turbo outlet. (then to confirm this I disconnected the pipe towards the front of the engine and found a few drops in that are as well....and I'm assuming my Stillen SMIC probably needs to be cleaned now also)...my questions are: Given the Sport 500's were probably not put on right away from the original owner, they should obviously have less than 74K miles on it...so how many miles do turbos usually last?....and is this turbo probably already going bad?...or is it maybe just the compressor seal on the turbo is bad from sitting so much from the previous ownser?....and is the driver's side really that bad to remove like the FSM shows with the engine still in the car?... or is a complete engine pull quicker? (I just don't have an engine hoist at the moment)...Thoughts?
