Message	operation would never have been accepted by me in an engine rebuild. Those arc cutter tool grooves are just what is needed to let the compression gases out, not a goos thing. The shop is lacking in quality and way ahead in quantity if that is the work they produce. Take it back and demand they surface it true to the correct finish.
