what caused the timing to be off in the first place? If it was correct at some point and deviated from that, my money is on the possibility of it becoming further out of time which can most definitely ruin your engine. Why not re-install the belt per fsm? It should only take a couple of hours tops. If the timing belt was off time to begin with and has not drifted from that setting, then I would see no problem with it running that way (unless the spark timing is advanced when compared to the mechanical timing) although I wouldn't recommend running your Z when it is sick as I cannot provide any proof that it will be fine in your exact situation.
*disclaimer*: all that I say may be true or I may be completely wrong and I accept that.... please, it is your duty as another person on the internet to impolitely tell me how wrong I am :) "The dreaded 2nd windshiled wiper swipe when you turn it off its almost like tis showing you that it's boss, and it doesn't have to stop when you tell it to :("-College Boy (discussion on ptu relocation) "No good reason to put it there anyway. -Bernie (NoVA) False -vorpalZ False. -Bernie (NoVA) You're correct, there are 3 good reasons -vorpalZ False. -Bernie (NoVA) Wow, right again, just remembered another, make that 4 -vorpalZ" XD
