I am looking for thoughts on my situation: I have a 1990 NA swapped to JDM TT. all new belts, idlers, pulleys, oilpump, etc. Basically replaced everything eccept for internals. after about 8K-12K miles over the last 3-4 years @ around 15psi low boost and 18psi high it is making a sound almost like a supercharger. It is not the water pump or other accesories because I have pulled all belts off the front and the noise is still there. I fear it is a timing belt pulley or tensioner. Any other ideas on something to check before I pull the motor and rebuild the whole thing? The more money I can put towards upgrades VS. OEM repairs the better!
