By a Dupree auto trans I am assuming you are saying you have a Specialty Z High Hp auto trany? If this is true they say that their tranny MUST have mercedes benz auto tranny fluid. I dealt with a similar issue with this same tranny only under load it was hesitating shifthing from 2nd to 3rd. It also felt like it was slipping sometimes in second. Greg and seb both said that their tranny brand new off the shelf with any fluid other than MB will do this. I would call them to find out more on wich fluid to run. I was dismantling this z so I never bought the MB fluid to see if it helped. Good luck
