Message Here is my background.

Stock wheels/tires that came on the car, vibration around 65-70mph. It would vary in intensity and would sometimes go away around corners. It was odd. I had the tires re-balanced and road-balanced with little change.

I inspected all suspensions components and replaced my tension rod bushings, despite them looking healthy.

The shake remained, so I though well surely a wheel is bent. So I bought aftermarket wheels/tires(new), the shaking got worse. So I sold off the aftermarket wheels/tires went back to stock.

Now, since my car was a 2nd or 3rd car for most of this, it got driven very little since 2005. Enough that I've had the same front tires since then, plus they were used when I got them. So I checked out the dates and they were almost ten years old. Upon inspecting them I noticed obvious flat spots by running my hand around the circumference and feeling the unevenness of the tread. So I replaced with brand new tires and now its beautifully smooth.

The reason the aftermarket wheels/tires didn't ride smoothly is because I did not have hubcentric rings on(doh!). Looking back it was an obvious oversight, but live and learn.
