Message This one is going to be tough! Just speculating on a known case where a built engine was done, forged bottom end, 16psi, 740cc's, GT28RS's etc. This particular build ended up having (unknowingly, to this unfortunate Z-enthusiast at the time) NA heads (30P's), on TT 8.5:1 Compression Wiseco's.

Now, besides the KNOWN facts that the head porting is off by a small margin of volume, and the exhaust valves are a different material. What exactly, are the chances that a TT spark plug (a BKR7EIX or BKR8EIX Iridium), in an NA head, on a TT engine would be sticking out farther in the NA head, than in a TT one, making a potential cause for detonation, from sticking out too far and exposing threads, etc, or causing improper combustion from sticking out too far? This engine has been running fine to date, tuned well, and this discovery with the heads has only recently come about.

Most importantly - to really supplement this claim... I have a picture of the person's plugs below, I am wondering if this is normal to see a bit of combustion evidence on the first few threads of a colder iridium/platinum/copper plug as shown below.

And that, everyone, is your Z 'mind-bender' for Monday!
Looking forward to hearing your responses!
