Message More specifically, where am I supposed to look for the mark?

If I look for it from the very left most side of the car, towards where the water pipes are, I get 15* however, if I look at it straight down, I get ~17*. Car responds fine, but was just double checking before posting it up for sale.

On my other z, I have a Koyo rad (OEM in the car above) and it's very hard to check the timing from directly up top of the crank pulley (thicker rad). With that, you either have to peek from the very left most, or very right most sides of the radiator area, so I just try to get it to say 14 when I look from the left, and 16 when I look from the right, but I don't really know if I've been doing the right thing for years now.
