Message a new wiring harness (making it easier to get the wiring from the engine bay into the cabin). So seems like a reasonable way to solve your issue?

Kind of strange you are having a wire continuity issue that close to the ECU connector block? Maybe there's just an issue with that connector pin (that could be repaired?)...

PS - Another way to tackle this issue, open up the ECU case and a solder a wire to the ECU board, run it thru the case and terminate with some kind of male/female quick connect then make your connection at the harness. Not pretty but given the ECU's are rarely disconnected, does it really matter?
