Message	Not sure how long the warrantee is, but I've had the rack at least 2 years, maybe 3. I was in the middle of a big build project that sort of took longer than I originally thought. Funny how that happens. This is not my original rack. There is a retainer adjustment, but I think it is just something that rubs against the pinion shaft to create drag vs. actually closing up the gap btwn rack and pinion. I had a YJ for 15 yrars and replaced its steering box, but it had internal play also. I tried adjusting it, but never was 100% happy with it. It looks like you may be able to buy new rack and pinions for the Z's rack online, but it is about $400 for those two items. Plus seals and rebuilding fees if someone does it. I miss the tight, no play steering my Z had before.
