Subject	leaning my idle control valve?

Message	I have a 91 tt and it dies at idle sometimes and i think it has to do with my idle control valve and i would rather try and clean it then replace the whole thing. Is that possible or do you just have to replace it?? If i can clean it any tips??? thanks
