Message This may very well be dumb luck or coincidence but after a trip to the mechanic my car is having a much harder time starting.

Talking to this guy a couple weeks back he said the cold start issue is due to a faulty sensor. I can't remember what it was called and might be a 2 part system. He says it is not uncommon for the part to go bad and that the parts alone are around $500. The shop seems legit(tons of Zs and have seen them mentioned here but wont name).

SO I know that much. It has been just below freezing in the AM lately in the part of CA that I live in. A couple of weeks ago it took about 5 seconds of cranking to fire. This was the only time all winter. For the past 2 days I have had to crank for many minutes for it to fire, immediately following the mech visit.

He tested my injectors looking for a missfire. I do have one dead one and one that just about gone. We also had the exhaust down and my gaskets are shot.

Is there something that he might have accidentally left disconnected that could be adding to my starting issues? Where should I start looking? Coincidence?

I am not seeing anything glaring but I do not know what all has to be undone to check the injectors. The car, once started, does not seem to be running any differently than it was a week ago. The temperature has actually been a bit warmer this week than recently. I have a full tank of gas from the same place I always go.

The guy did leave his flashlight sandwiched between the hood and the wheel well so it is not unreasonable that he could have forgotten to hook something back up.

Any help is always appreciated. Than you all!
