So to prepare for my oil temp and pressure gauge install, I found an adapter that changes the 1/8 BSPT in the block to an 1/8" NPT. Fastenal sold me a brass T fitting and nipple to thread in. The issue I ran into was the oil temp threaded in fine, but with it all the way threaded in, it covered about 3/4 of the adjacent hole in the tee that would be feeding the oil pressure probably causing inaccuracies. I looked everywhere for an extended tee to adapt to the length of the autometer sender so I called autometer. A rep tells me that temp sender 2258 (supplied with gauge) for short sweep gauges is interchangeable with auxiliary sender 2259 they sell separately for $15 shipped (JEGS and just about everywhere else). The difference in the senders is the length. 2259 is snubbed and only goes as far as the threads where as 2258 extends almost 1/2" past the threads. With the short sender, both can be teed together easily off the block (removing inaccurate OEM sender). For anyone else this may ease their installation as I spent quite some time figuring this out. $14 - 1/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT ADAPTER (SHIPPED FROM JEGS) $3-4 - BRASS TEE FITTING AND NIPPLE (FASTENAL) $15 - AUTOMETER 2259 SNUB TEMP SENDER (SHIPPED FROM JEGS) TOTAL - $32 - $33 NOTE THIS SENDER ONLY WORKS WITH SHORT SWEEP GAUGES. YOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK INTO ALTERNATIVE SENDERS FOR FULL SWEEP THIS IS JUST A REFERENCE.
