My mechanic skills is what's considered as (backyard/shade tree mechanic) an let me just add that I only fix on or tear up my own stuff. (pull engines/Trans, tune-ups, brakes etc.) I'm not looking to go in on this car like that, so that's why I'm looking for shops in Atlanta that's good with these style cars to spend money with. This car is my new project, so there's no hurry to get it out on the highway. So far I have about $8 sum grand saved in my car fund, and with tax refunds right around the corner, I'm ready to start shopping for quotes etc. Regardless of the engine condition (bent valves or worse) I still want a Full overhaul, a guy at Autozone said go with a JDM Motor and just repair what's needed with it. Well I told him a overhaul engine would be kinda like a new one me.
