After much searching I am still coming up empty handed when looking for any information on cam identification. I am preparing to swap some auto intake cams for a pair of manual cams. Before starting my project I would like to get a positive ID on the cams that will be installed. Is there any way to visually determine the difference between early and late style cams? I know the snout is shorter on the late model (94+). If anyone has dimensions I could measure them if they have no identifying features that could be seen with the eye. In addition I would love to ensure that they are not auto TT cams. All the information that I have seen suggests that they have the same lift just different duration. If this is the case can they be identified without testing the cams with a dial gauge to measure duration? Seems like Nissan must have some other way to identify these at the factory.... right?
Thanks for any help.
