| A few things came to mind when I read this.. How are you going to get the PROM out?. Is it going to still be in One Piece, or are you going to cut the Legs off of it, and then unsolder each leg individually from the Board?. .. BTDT on a different board.. Do you have a USEABLE PROM to re-Install in the Socket until you get a Tune?.. IF your Original PROM is Fubar? [ Side Note ] I built a Brass Fixture that Covers the Prom and ONLY touches the Chip at the Leggs.. You heat the Fixture to about 600 Deg, and Slide it Over the Entire Chip.. about 5 seconds later the Chip Comes loose and you pull it off the board.. Then Separate it from the Fixture.. Yes you must be quick if you don't want to kill the Chip or the Board.. I've done two Proms that way.. both were still readable afterward.. so it must not piss off the Chips too much.. Cleaner than the 'Cut the Leggs off' Method.. Cj
