You might not need a new rack unless it's actually leaking FROM the rack. I'd spray it with brake cleaner and wipe everything down. Then move the steering wheel from left to right to make it leak and see if you can pinpoint exactly where it's leaking from. If you're leaking from where the metal lines attach to the rack, you can try tightening those connections and/or replacing the copper washers that act like gaskets. If you really are leaking from underneath that plastic that goes around the pinion gear, you probably do need a replacement rack or a rebuild. I've successfully rebuilt my rack before. The rebuilt kit was about $50 and the hardest part was that all the online info sucks or is incorrect. Same thing with the factory service manual. It took me a few days of a few hours each and a lot of bitching to do it the first time, although if I had to do another one now, I could probably do the whole thing in a couple of hours. It definitely helps to have lots of tools, including a vice and a shop press.
