"kinda blown", as you say, for a while. At first it was just the gurgling noise, then it started using noticable water, then overheating. All the while, it ran fine and had good power. Also, I should say the gurgling was coming from the heater core, and at first just at cold start-up. So hopefully this has nothing to do with your issue. You can eliminate the possibility for a few bucks. Good luck.
