Message connector located on the front of the TPS, or as a result of the ECU reading the TPS voltage. On a properly functioning engine, if the Idle Switch is disconnected, the ECU will still recognize On Idle status based on the voltage reading, usually a little below 0.50 volts. Likewise, the TPS connector can be disconnected, and while the engine will idle very rough and hunt for its intended idle range; the ECU will obtain and display an On Idle status based on the on/off function of the Idle Switch connector. I am not sure how these facts might figure into your situation; however, I wanted to present them nonetheless. g.
