| at the rings. Fair compression still can have poor consumption. Do a vacum test and tell us the results. Vacuum test can detect bad rings, valves, manifold leaks, blocked exhaust, etc. Here is a link to How to and Results interp: [ http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/vacuum/ ] A vibrating needle is not a good sign. If in good shape you should pull 19 mm Hg at idle with a very steady needle and 20 mm Hg at 2000 revs same steady needle. Are the PCV's OEM units as well as the hoses with the restrictors? I have experienced problems with after market PCV's. Any oil in the coolant? Have you done a compression test with some oil added to the cylindere to temporary seal the rings? If rings are bad seal you will see a noticable increase in compression. Did you do anything to the valve guides in the rebuild?
