My car is still burning a lot of oil. As of now, the newly rebuild engine has about 1200 miles. Last compression test I got 135 - 145 psi across the board. As I was told by some of you to monitor the oil consumption and drive it hard for the next 1000 miles and see.. One thing I know that it has a lot of Blow-by, and always there is a pool of oil in the intake plenum. 140 psi is not really a bad number but why it burns so much oil (about nearly 2 quarts every for every 300 miles) Questions: -Oil in the plenum, Is that also a source of oil consumption?? - -Should I install an oil catch can? If that can help reduce blow by and oil consumption? other than that I am happy with how my car is perform, at least I can drive it for awhile before doing another rebuild..
