| Thanks for all the replies. heres some answers. I checked the timing off the #1 cylinder. I made an extension plug. Ive never used this particular timing light before. The compression is another issue. I checked the compression cold and got one of the cylinders reading terribly low almost 20. I have access to a borescope and scoped all the cylinders. I didnt see any evidence of striking on the top of the pistons, but I know thats not a good indicator. As for the teeth count, after the second time I started counting teeth from the service manual. Got good teeth count on all cam to cam counts. Didnt do the cam to crank count cause it was dark. If the timing is truly off, I believe the cog count would be low counting from the drivers side exhaust cam to the crank pulley. Havent checked that though. That will be my next step. Again im praying at this point hoping there is no engine damage. With the low compression and the engine running like shit, im assuming there is damage, but the timing being off is giving me a glimmer of hope that it is a timing issue. Thoughts?
