They are great for high torque applications. In fact, they were used heavily in tractors. They will definitely clamp down and slippage should be minimal. That being said, they also have a problem with overheating. If you slip the clutch a lot at the track, you'll find it may slip while driving back to the starting line. It requires dumping because feramic just doesn't work well with high RPM slips. Although, it still takes some abuse before these symptoms will start to arise. Another issue is that, if it heats up too much, it will fuse to the flywheel once it cools down. I had this exact issue occur when my Z was being shipped across country. The shipping company somehow fused them together while loading it on/off the truck enroute. However, it can easily be popped off and driven again as it is very forgiving. In the end, feramic is great for high torque but it has significant drawbacks as well.

Do yourself a favor and just worry about your own car. I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM The unicorn gets its revenge... -- Scotts94z32 on September 19, 2006 at 11:12 AM CLICK FOR DETAILS ABOUT BUYING A ZAMA POSTER!!!!
