there's a hard pipe on the driver's side, near the exhaust manifold (i believe above it, right under valve covers)..going horizontally from the turbo to near the front of the engine and then (i believe) up to the throttle body coolant lines.. somewhere in the middle of this coolant pipe, there's a rubber hose that connects the pipe from the turbo to this pipe.. just recently had a leak there because of cold weather. it would only start leaking coolant after the engine gets to operating temperature (coolant circulating through engine). it also caused coolant to drip on the exhaust manifold and caused a hissing sound as you mentioned.
