Message	12v constant at the middle terminal, a solid ground on the thin black wire. And a 5v signal pulse on the (usually red) wire. The first two are easy, for the third get you will need a logic probe. Make sure your testing the PTU correctly, the 94 version of the FSM has the correct method for testing the new style PTU's.
