Wanted to check the health of things to get an idea for upcoming projects this winter. Part of this comes from my previous post about blowing smoke out the driver side exhaust on hard right hand bends and oil consumption. 138K on motor Here are the compression results: #5 175 #6 167 #3 166 #4 165 #1 170 #2 169Was going to do a leak down test with the tester I bought from Harbor Freight, but it's almost impossible to get at the crank bolt with the fan and radiator shroud in the way and the little amount of time I had last night. Here are the spark plugs matching the locations from above. Curious why passenger side plugs are tan/brown and driver side have the gray color to them?

Any advice from what you see? Is it necessary to do a leak down test based on the compression results? Also, I have an intermittent EGR Flow Valve error code. It's tripped the CEL once and I reset it, but I found the code when I hooked up an OBDII reader. The CEL wasn't on, but the code was there. I don't have emissions testing in Oklahoma...actually not even inspections! Timing belt was changed at 100K miles by PO. Do I need to worry about the EGR valve causing problems? I'm leaning towards an engine pull this winter at this point because I have an exhaust leak on the driver side that seals up when things get hot and expand. Turbos don't seem to be leaking, but now with the EGR valve going bad it may be eminent.
