| Using a TT flywheel on an NA tranny requires a shim so that the starter doesn't continue to contact the flywheel. It could also be that the starter isn't disengaging after starting the car, either because of electrical or mechanical (too gunked up to release) failure. I'll hope it's the starter for your sake, otherwise you'll have to pull the transmission. Easiest way to check is to pull the two bolts off of the starter and then turn the crank by hand. See if you hear grinding.
