Hi, from my experience the oil sender unit is a regular culprit, replace it and check the connection/wire. what type of oil are you using? again I would suggest a semi synthetic 10W40 or 15W40 for these older engines, this will also help with the oil pressure (and smoke if any and ticking).when you do the oil change its also good to do a clean, there are additives to aid in this, you could also do a flush with some cheap oil (and replace the oil filter). once you do this then check again for the oil pressure issue.
