| Long story short, I purchased a roller Z a few years back which came with an engine that I am only now getting around to trying to start. The engine will turn over however about all I get is a lot of backfiring. It occurs about every second depending on where I set the cas. Adjusting the cas also seems to affect how hard it backfires. I realize this sounds like an obvious timing issue however I have verified the following: - timing is on - ptu ohms out ok - injectors ohm out ok - all plugs spark when spinning cas - all injectors click when spinning cas - compression is decent across the board although a few cylinders take many cranks before the compression gauge stops moving (I assume due to leak down issues/blow by). Things I haven't tested: - firing order - clogged injectors - leaky injectors - fuel pressure - valves seating/bent (no idea how to test this) I've not yet had the time to run these tests as I can only work on the car on the weekend. My main reason for posting is to get some feedback/ideas so I can utilize my time wisely this coming weekend as well as get some parts on order if needed. Thanks in advance for any help.
