Subject	Stock water temp gauge not working?

Message	Hello, my stock coolant gauge is shooting up to the middle as soon as I turn the key, if I disconnect the sensor it still stays in the middle and does not raise when the car gets warmer! Anyone have any input on this, the gauge used to work before I did my swap but that was 4 years ago... No codes and the car runs pretty good most of the time!
