| posting again, accidentally posted in general and it wasnt moved so here it goes... - did a 120k service a few months ago and had a shop check the work. never take your Z to a non specialist. the douche bags caused a coolant leak
- also replaced passenger pcv and hoses but was unable to get the drivers side which i plan on doing this weekend
- prob wont be able to change the firewall side pcv hose as the engine is in the car
- then had NMImports fix the leak and check it compression at time of 120k checked out but was not great Now to my issue...
- last oil change i only got about half of it back and it was black, with a slight tint of gas smell
- car is smoking randomly on startup and idle and goes away with throttle
- does NOT always smoke on startup or idle, it is random
- have yet to see smoke on accel or decel with someone following me
- no visible leaks of any fluids
- passenger intercooler tube near the pcv had some moisture on it and now im watching that to see if its leaking there, but so far nothing is showing. give some time for dirt to build up and see what happens im guessing if the rings were shot it would constantly smoke?
turbos possibly dying? boost seems consistant anyone have any ideas on what it could be or where to start?
guessing the first thing is another compression test which i cant do until thursday
