Message	is done there? Here in NJ -- they hook the car up to a machine and then rev the engine in various ways while measuring tailpipe emissions. Only cars/trucks with out OBDII get done this way. It's possible a vacuum line could have come dislodged if the inspection there includes a careful look-see in the engine bay (CA does this). But I'd say normally state inspections shouldn't any issues...
