Message	For some strange reason my z doesn't "throw"check engine lights either. But every time I suspect a component failure I regularly check my ecu for codes, as should you. From my understanding safety mode is for tt's only, and you are n/a so you shouldn't have to worry about that. Have you changed your coolant temp sensor?
