yeah im my honest opinion that bead of silicone should have been on the outer edge of the pan opposed to the inner edge, this will help to prevent any silicone from squishing out into the oil pan itself and clogging up your oil pickup tube. also a smaller bead would be good, once you have pan on and tightened down you can always add a bead around outside edge and smooth with finger to ensure no leaks are present. a much better alternative then oil starvation due to an excess of silicone inside the pan edge. id redo it once more. 3rd times a charm ;)
