| while installing the pan? I dropped the cross member with the tie rods still connected. The cross member came down quite a bit, but I have two interference issues that require a lot of finesse. 1) The lip of the oil pan will get caught on the transmission plate (the big one) where you have to really push the oil pan towards the front of the car before it will drop. 2) The oil pick up tube is obviously in the way as everyone said, so I have to angle the pan up to the point where the front touches the block. The only way I seem to be able to get good clearance is if I pull the cross member towards the front of the car. Has anyone else had to do that? I just can't do it all by myself though. I can't balance the pan...push the cross member towards the front, etc. Am I missing something?
