On the output side of the PTU harness, there are 7 wires, one for each cylinder and one ground. The pins are in order from cylinder 1 to 6. (IIRC these are all pink with a different color The coil pack connector has three wires. A ground, a +12v, and a pulse wire in that order when looking down the open side of the harness plug with it unplugged. The +12v is switched to the ign relay and is only active when the key is on. The pulse wire which should be pink with a colored line is the one that should have continuity with the PTU harness. In my case, the pulse wire had continuity all the way to the PTU, but it also had continuity with the ground wire. Once I determined that it was just a matter of unraveling the loom and finding the exposed wire.
