| Okay, this is pretty dumb. The Nissan manual says to drain the compressor oil into a graduated container and add that same amount of oil into the new compressor. This pretty much assumes that there was a correct amount of oil left in the compressor to begin with. What if the old compressor leaked oil? What if some of the oil blew out when the pressure relief valve opened? There is a chart in there that tells you how much to add when replacing each component ... except for the compressor. Ridiculous. /rant Yes, I know ... there is a post that says 2 ounces, another one says 4 ounces. The bottom line is, nobody really knows because Nissan makes the stupid assumption that no amount of oil ever escapes the system.
