Hi there, So my car has a high/fluctuating idle this year after some upgrades .... throttle bodies, piping, intercoolers, injectors, SZ chip, and greddy boost controller ... The idle jumps from about 1800rpm to about 2000rpms ..... now i found one large leak on one of the intake pipes, the vacum hose had cracked and it was pretty much wide open ... but when i plugged that up the idle didnt change one bit .... now when i do following boost leak tests i can hear what sounds like a very very small leak at the back of the motor that i cant get a hand / ear on to verify where its coming from ... but it sounds like its wet already ..... ie i have a small oil leak from one of my valve covers ... could that be the cause of my leak ??? The car builds boost and is very solid to about 11-12psi ... and after that the gauge needle seems to bounce around a little and will not go above that boost level regardless of how i play around with the boost controller .... the IACV should not affect conditions while the throttle bodies are open correct ?? just trying to nail this down so that i can enjoy the car with peace of mind. Also when i cut the pressure from the compressor while doing the leak test, the pressure will go back down to 0 from about 3psi but it takes roughly 1 minute for that to happen .... is that still a significant enough leak, if at all, to cause issues like this ? Thanks in advance.
