I originally drained the fluid and removed the calipers to rebuild / powder coat them. However, the front calipers were in pretty bad condition so while I was waiting I rebuilt the suspension but my new brakes won't be here in time for the move so I'm using a trailer to move it. Anyway the idea is to cap the brake lines off so I can put new fluid back into the system with out it leaking, and to keep water and dust out of the system. I also haven't been able to run the car at all so I wanted to get it to the point that I could run it without causing any issues with leaks and what not. I hope that's the explanation you were looking for.
